Providing shoes and clothing for Orphanage #1 was once again the focus for 2008. While we were unable to make a personal trip to Odessa, we made sure to honor the annual tradition of providing basic necessities for children housed at the orphanage. Brand new shoes, clothing and medicine was purchased for the children via a family member who made several trips to the vendors and delivered the items to the orphanage. This, coincidentally happened around winter holidays so all kids got a nice New Year present from the foundation. We kept the 2008 project very small as it is optimal to oversee all events in person, which is the objective of Odessa Children Fund. We plan to return to Odessa in person in 2009 with the main goal of finding more children for university scholarships.
